Well, we decided to make a run for it and do a long day. So, instead of stopping in western Louisiana (at Lake Charles ... which didn't have any room, anyways), we headed on past Houston, to Sealy, Texas. This was just past our destination that was planned for the second day, so we compressed two travel days into one. Texas is really big (everything's bigger in Texas) and getting a head start across it is a good idea.
We waited (and hoped) we would find a good place to stay, and around 8 PM we 'got lucky' and stopped at a Holiday Inn. This one had a nice king size suite and double queen suite next to each other and we rented the two rooms (after 'talking them down' $15 in the process). David had quite a sore shoulder (from driving) and hopped into the whirlpool (though, come to think of it, I never did turn it on). Heather Lynn and Dad watched the latter part (45 minutes) of Die Hard (the first one). It was fun.
Here is a picture of the hotel with our favourite mom coming out in the morning ready to head off driving for another day:
Off to San Antonio. Not a very long day (thanks to the previous one), though we are breaking with our trend and heading to a commercial place, the San Antonio KOA.
